about

Red To Blue is a song about finding friendship in what was once an awkward love interest- awkward in the sense of that loving feeling not being shared by that significant other.

lyrics

Red To Blue
by Ryan Voss

I don’t know what your game is
Or if there’s a game being played at all
Whether my heart is in the right place
Or if I believe in a tale that’s tall
I admit I’m not too clear headed
Your eyes convey a kindness genuine
But all too soon you float away
No one to hear me cry but this empty page and my pen

Trying not to read too much in minute detail
You embrace me when you can and put my darker thoughts to bed
I’ll just hurt myself in asking more than you can bear
Just wish I had your tranquil blue
Instead of my raging red

I wrote you a love song
I sang while your smile gave me a sense of aplomb
I knew well you didn’t share my feelings
But words left unsaid have me feeling so numb

Somewhere my wires got crossed
You see all my defects and still offer me a friend
But I’m just weary of pretty words
They’ve hurt me before and I’m not so trusting of them

Trying not to read too much in minute detail
You laugh along with me, pop a pillow under my head
I’ll only hurt myself in asking more than you can bear
Just wish I had your tranquil blue
Instead of my raging red

You’re quite the cool cucumber
Think you stole Lady Ga-Ga’s poker face
Know some folks you’d like to slap upside the noggin
But you’re warm as summer and in a happier place
Still, I’m plagued by my past
Left in the rough and lost in the woods
Will you stay alongside your troubled friend?
Or question whether or not you should?
